The Performers Academy provides a new home for Jacksonville's talent

The Performers Academy will host an open to the public ribbon cutting ceremony and exhibition on May 12th from 4 – 7 PM. The Performers Academy will provide support and training services to amateur and professional dancers, actors, musicians and producers at 3674 Beach Boulevard Jacksonville, FL 32207.

Executive Director Kathryn Umberger designed the academy to bring the various artistic disciplines together under one roof. “I found a way to merge my love of entrepreneurship, with my love of the arts. We're opening a unique, creative environment that increases the level of instruction and performance in a variety of areas. We are going to have a fabulous opening that will demonstrate the immense scope of all our offerings. I hope everyone will come to the ceremony and join the fun.”

Kezia Rolle, Executive Director of the Jacksonville Centre of the Arts, sees The Performers Academy as “a new opportunity for her students to be inspired and exposed to other performing artists and instructors.” Her enthusiasm is shared by Cindy Hogan – The A.C.T.I.N.G. Coach – another skilled instructor making a home at the academy. “There is nothing like this in this area. We have taken an eclectic group of individuals and formed a mecca of creativity! The Performers Academy is creating an opportunity for talent to be nurtured and developed.”

A number of additional instructors have already committed to join including Alba Abrahamson of the Suzuki Piano School of Mandarin and Craig Acker with Titus Fitness.

The newly redesigned 7,000+ ft, 2 academy boasts 3 dance studios, a Voice-over booth, separate audio and video editing suites, classrooms and office space for new artists or trainers. Studio space is available for community use and non-traditional performers are encouraged to join established artists. Schedule updates and studio availability will be online at http://www.theperformersacademy.com/.
