February 20 @ 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm UTC+0
Join Professor of History Wes Moody for a discussion of the history of silent film in Jacksonville and the important role Norman Studios played in offering African-Americans the opportunity to play something other than racial stereotypes. The presentation will be followed by a screening of The Flying Ace, the sole known surviving film from Norman Studios, which features an all-black cast in the story of a WWI veteran who returns home only to be drawn into the investigation of a train robbery.
