CROP Creative Media shoots Firehouse Subs commercial

CROP Creative Media recently produced a new national commercial for Firehouse Subs – shooting in Jacksonville both on location and in CROP Creative Media’s studio at 1024 Kings Avenue, from February 23-25, 2015.

Firehouse Subs’ agency of record is Zimmerman Advertising.  Headquartered in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Zimmerman is the country’s leading national retail brand builder.  Firehouse Subs, based in Jacksonville, Florida, has more than 850 stores and is rapidly expanding. Co-founding brothers, Chris and Robin Sorensen, were instrumental in keeping this production in their home city. They previously shot Firehouse Subs commercials in New York and Miami.

Keeping production local to Jacksonville translates into a significant investment in the local economy. The job employed experienced and talented film industry professionals based in Jacksonville & the surrounding Northeast Florida area.  The shoot employed a local producer, director of photography, audio engineer and several grip and lighting professionals.  The art department featured a local set designer and builder, props and wardrobe specialist, make-up artist, caterer and food stylists.  The head food stylist was a long-time Jacksonville resident and was flown in from Texas for the job.  Ten local extras were hired through a local casting agency to portray firemen and firewomen on location. The shoot required specialized lighting and camera equipment to film the commercial’s signature sandwich – the Turkey Bacon Ranch sub. 

Other economic impact to Jacksonville includes catering and food from 4 Rivers Smokehouse, Biscottis, Corner Taco, BBs Restaurant, Sweet Pete’s, and the Fresh Market in Riverside. Out-of-town agency and crew stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in Jacksonville and the Hampton Inn in St. Augustine, FL.
