Congratulations to the 42 teams that successfully made it into the 2011 Jacksonville 48 Hour Film Project! Have FUN and be SAFE! Come to the Kick-Off event at the Jacksonville Landing on Friday, June 17 from 6 to 7:15 p.m.! And importantly, turn in your film even if it is late! Late films are eligible to still win the Audience Choice Award.
Mark your calendars! Start spreading the news and excitement! We’ll be “Kicking Off” the 2011 Jacksonville 48 Hour Film Project at the Jacksonville Landing on Friday, June 17 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. Team check-in begins at 6:00 p.m. (be sure to bring your signed Team Leader Agreement, otherwise NO team check-in). The “Genre Pull” begins about 6:40 p.m., and the “Prop, Character and Line of Dialog” that must be in each film will be announced at 6:55 p.m. At 7:00 p.m., the Clock STARTS! Be sure to be at the Landing to cheer the teams off, wish them well, and wish them good luck!
Come back on Sunday, June 19 to Jacksonville Landing from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to see the teams race back with their finished films! Help us count down to Deadline! Help cheer on teams that arrive late. These teams have worked hard, so let’s let them know how proud we are of them.
Finally, mark your calendars now for June 21, 22 and 23 to see the films from the weekend! Tickets are on sale now at the Florida Theatre Box Office and online at www.ticketmaster.com. You can buy single night tickets or three night discounted packets. More details about the screenings will be following during the week. Interested in creating a team but missed the deadline? You’re not entirely out of luck! Add your team to the “waiting list”, and should spaces open up, teams may be added to the competition on a first-come, first-served basis. Visit www.48hourfilm.com/jacksonville, click on “Register For Jacksonville Now!”, and fill out the form. Teams on the wait list will not be billed for registration unless you are invited to compete and you accept the invitation. Also, don’t forget that Orlando and Savannah are within easy driving distance and hold 48 Hour Film Project weekends as well (www.48hourfilm.com/orlando or www.48hourfilm.com/savannah)!
